L'Estaque is a north district of Marseille. It was a district populated by fishermen and workers of the tiles factories. At the end of the 19th century, a lot of painters moved in here. Cézanne, Georges Braque, André Derain, Raoul Dufy, Othon Friesz, Albert Marquet, and Auguste Renoir were the most famous of them.
Nowt his place is famous for doughnuts and water jousting. Perhaps you saw few pictures of joustings in Sète by Christopher Anderson. Here, the rules are different. (The boats move by motor, not by oars.)
